Redskins Draft
What position(s) should the Redskins use their top 2-3 picks on in April's draft?

Will the Redskins receive any compensatory picks for the loss of Sean Taylor? Relief from the salary cap? Should they?

Would you trade the Redskins' #1 pick (#21 overall) for Chad Johnson?

Wiz
Would you trade Gilbert Arenas before the end of this season, and who would you want in return?

Redskins Head Coach
Would you rather have Steve Mariucci come in and add his expertise in molding Jason Campbell, or would you rather have Russ Grimm come in and assume the risk of him either getting fired after one year under the impatient Snyder or turning into a 10+ yr head coach in this town?

Do you believe that Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl?

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one?

Which town has hotter girls: Baltimore or D.C.?

Will Norv Turner ever win a Super Bowl?

Which is the best NCAA college sports conference and why?

What team (in any sport) has the worst fans?

Redskins Draft
What position(s) should the Redskins use their top 2-3 picks on in April's draft?
CB/DB, OL/DL

Will the Redskins receive any compensatory picks for the loss of Sean Taylor? Relief from the salary cap? Should they?
NO. NO. NO. Wouldn't this just provide an incentive for teams to have high-priced players who aren't performing up to their salaries killed?

Would you trade the Redskins' #1 pick (#21 overall) for Chad Johnson?
NO. Our receivers are fine and Johnson is an absolute a-hole.

Wiz
Would you trade Gilbert Arenas before the end of this season, and who would you want in return?
Absolutely. However, this question presumes there's a team out there willing to trade close to equivalent value (in players and/or picks) for a player of his caliber who has a contract he can opt out of at the end of this season...and my guess is that even Kevin McHale isn't this dumb.

Russ Grimm is the better hire for continuity. If I remember correctly, the knock on Mooch is that he couldn't get it done in the playoffs in SanFran (and couldn't get it done at all in Detroit).

Do you believe that Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl?
It will happen next year. The Redskins have never not won the Super Bowl the year after the Giants did. That's history. (For the record, though, he is not the one who wins it -- the coaches and players do.)

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one?
Asante Samuel.

Which town has hotter girls: Baltimore or D.C.? DC. Hands down.

Will Norv Turner ever win a Super Bowl? No.

The Giants just gave us the answer.DL,DL,DL, then sprinkle in some OL. We need a stud DL rotation, you can never have too many. OL is a big need as well, but they're easier to develop. You show me a pro-bowl corner, and I'll show you a D-lineman who's breathin' in the QB's air all day.

Will the Redskins receive any compensatory picks for the loss of Sean Taylor? Relief from the salary cap? Should they?
Nope, they won't. Only because Denver didn't.

Would you trade the Redskins' #1 pick (#21 overall) for Chad Johnson?
Not a chance. He's a good, borderline great player. Is he better than Santana? Who's to say. He was taken out of the offense this year, so he's not unstoppable. No way you give up a 1st rounder. I'd take him in a swap for Lloyd though, in a heartbeat.

No, and I leave room for wiggle here. Anyone who saw the Lakers game the other day saw why the Wiz need Gilbert. Butler may be our best all around player, Jamison is a 20-10 stud, but there's only one player on the Wiz who can get a bucket ANYTIME he wants. You saw Kobe do it. You've seen Lebron and Iverson do it. Howabout those ar ethe ONLY guys in the league better than Arenas at it. You can trade Arenas if you ar ehappy getting bounced in round one or two of the playoffs every year, but if you're serious about a ring, he's gotta stay. Now, here's my wiggle room. Obviously if Lebron decides to bounce you trade whatever to get him. But I'm thinking more along the lines of Dwight Howard. If you could swap Arenas and Haywood for Howard, I wouldn't even blink. Other than those two, there's nobody else worth it. Not worth upsetting the team chemistry. Where else would your best player defer to someone else to lead the team? He knows his shortcomings are as a team leader, and with Butler and Jamison, I don't think that's a bad thing.

Redskins Head Coach??
Does it matter what I say? Lil' Danny is gonna pick whoever he thinks he can push around the most. Prob'ly Fassel. I'd love Grimm, but it ain't happening. Startin' 2 love Spags, but he 'n' Blache would turn into Buddy Ran Kevin Gilbride part deux.

Do you believe that Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl?
This question's funny. Cuz I believe HE thinks HE will, and when I say HE, I mean HE. HE's gonna do it his way, everyone else be damned. So, will HE win a SB? No way. Will the Skins win one if HE gets smart (or drugged, locked in a trunk, and shipped off to Pakistan), and hres a real GM? Yep!

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one?

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one?
None. I don't think they should pursue anyone. No more blank checks. Let's try to finagle some extra draft picks and build an NFL team, not a fantasy team.

Which town has hotter girls: Baltimore or D.C.?
My wife.

Will Norv Turner ever win a Super Bowl?
Next Question.

I forgot to do these two earlier:
1. Which is the best NCAA college sports conference and why?
Either the ACC or the Big East b/c I live in DC and can watch both of them a lot more than any others. The MAAC is a close third.

What team (in any sport) has the worst fans?
The entire New England area -- Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox -- for their accents, their bandwagoning, and their damn success.

Redskins Draft
What position(s) should the Redskins use their top 2-3 picks on in April's draft? – Offensive linemen. They have to stop the rush and let Campbell get the ball out in the course of the routes. He spent way too much time on his butt last year and his confidence, timing, and accuracy suffered for it.

Will the Redskins receive any compensatory picks for the loss of Sean Taylor? Relief from the salary cap? Should they? – Yes, but that’s a homer call. They lost this player due to circumstances beyond theirs or his control and they should be compensated. I just want the line drawn at that time about Michael Vick type situations. If somebody is in jail, then that’s the player’s fault.

Would you trade the Redskins' #1 pick (#21 overall) for Chad Johnson? – The receivers are fine. If they are looking for a big guy in the middle, look no further than Anthony Mix. He is 6’5” and ready to learn. He is also cheap. He is absolutely serviceable in that role. We need a coach that can maximize the talent of the team. You don’t need an all-star at every position and this team needs to realize that sooner rather than later.

Wiz
Would you trade Gilbert Arenas before the end of this season, and who would you want in return? – I’d wait to see what he adds to the team when he gets back. The team is gelling right now and playing pretty good defense. I hope he is taking notes so he doesn’t come in with his shoot first and don’t defend mentality.

– Assuming I’m done ranting about screwing up the Gregg Williams deal (which I’m not), I think Mariucci is the guy over Grimm and Fassel. His experience makes him a better candidate to lead a team that already has talent and confidence. The problem is that any coach coming in has to demand respect fo the players. I haven’t seen them lining up yet to restructure contracts now that Williams isn’t an option.

Do you believe that Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl? – Not because of anything he is doing. If they win one, it will be an upset and solely the credit of the coaches and players. Snyder continues to prove that he doesn’t know what he’s doing and he doesn’t want to change. A situation like last year was the result of the coaches and players coming together. It was also the lack of involvement by Snyder that allowed them to do what they wanted to do.

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one? – Jared Allen. We need to generate pass rush and you don’t need great CB’s (which we don’t have).

Which town has hotter girls: Baltimore or D.C.? – DC! And How!

Will Norv Turner ever win a Super Bowl? – No.

Which is the best NCAA college sports conference and why? – ACC and SEC

What team (in any sport) has the worst fans? – Cowboys. They’re obnoxious and hateable in every way.

Redskins Draft:
================
What position(s) should the Redskins use their top 2-3 picks on in April's draft?
-- Missionary, doggy-style and "the wheelbarrow"

Will the Redskins receive any compensatory picks for the loss of Sean Taylor? Relief from the salary cap? Should they?
-- Several witty responses here...but it's just too soon.

Would you trade the Redskins' #1 pick (#21 overall) for Chad Johnson?
-- Not a chance. I wouldn't touch "Ocho Stink-o" if even if you threw in Rudy Johnson and Randy Johnson.

Wiz
============
Would you trade Gilbert Arenas before the end of this season, and who would you want in return?
-- No but if yes, I would ask for LeBron or maybe the entire Denver Nuggets.

Redskins Head Coach
=========================
Would you rather have Steve Mariucci come in and add his expertise in molding Jason Campbell, or would you rather have Russ Grimm come in and assume the risk of him either getting fired after one year under the impatient Snyder or turning into a 10+ yr head coach in this town?
-- Or would you rather have John Harbaugh?

Do you believe that Dan Snyder will ever win a Super Bowl?
-- Only if he plays a lot of Madden

What one free agent should the Redskins pursue over all others if they had a chance to get just one?
-- Johan Santana?

Which town has hotter girls: Baltimore or D.C.?
-- Hate to diss my hometown girls but you gotta go with The District. Walk through GW's campus on an April day and then tell me I'm wrong.

Will Norv Turner ever win a Super Bowl?
-- Only if he plays Dan Snyder heads-up in Madden

Which is the best NCAA college sports conference and why?
Two-way tie:
-- Basketball - ACC. Great teams, great rivalries and they're on the East Coast. (Apologies to the Big East)
-- Football - Big 12. Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma...these states have literally nothing going on. The Sooners and Cornhuskers are like pro teams in the Midwest.

What team (in any sport) has the worst fans?
Two-way tie:
-- Any Boston/New England team. Must be the worst-cases of front-running in the history of sports. How many Red Sox hats and Patriots jerseys did you see in 1991?
-- Duke Blue Devils. Yeah, we all know how smart you kids are. Now just root for your team and quit the multi-stanza chants and iambic pentameter cheers. You're not in the Ivy League.

I've decided to answer my own question, since i'm sure you meant to ask it. Didn't the Giants D line deserve the MVP over Eli? Good question, thanks for asking. the answer is no, and at the risk of sounding like one of those mean-for-no-reason blog people, only a big dummy would suggest that. I'm tired of the idea of sharing an individual award. I think it started in ernest with Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. It either feels good to consider them equally valuable, or its to hard to discern who is more deserving. Sure, the running game won the Super Bowl for the colts, but it took two backs to equal Peyton's contribution. The Giants clearly won because of the joint effort of their line, but as I throw up a little bit in my mouth, I have to acknowledge that Eli put the points on the board to win. If only there was a way to acknowledge that the combined efforts of teammates won the game. Oh, wait, there is. it's called the Lombardi trophy. Sharing MVPs is a sham the same way thinking your parents love you as much as your brother is.

Who ever says "tens of hundreds"? Terrible!

Picks: All defense

Sean Taylor relief: No, stupidest question ever. The Bengals would be getting relief all year.

Ocho: No, him and Smoot on the same team would set us to be the Minnesota Vikings of 2 years ago.

Gil: Tough call. Not sure what we'd get for him. 1st round pick is not enough.

Snyder will never win a super bowl. Everything he does is backwards and he takes extreme measures to fix it which just bury us more for the long term. (Brunell, Bruce, Deion, Spurrier, Zorn, etc)

DC girls are hotter and thus bitchier.

RE: Didn't the Giants D line deserve the MVP over Eli?

In the words of the great Samuel L. Jackson: "Please allow me to retort"...

First, let me say that Eli played a hell of a game which was perfectly capped by the game-winning, drive-saving, sack-escaping throw and that ridiculous catch by Tyree. Not to take anything away from Plax whose subsequent catch actually put the points on the board. And who, I might add, had I listened to his score predicition, I would have taken The Under.

I don't think there was a doubt that the Giants could put 17 points on the board. Especially on a day when the Pats D didn't show up in usual form.

The real feat of that game was the Big Blue D keeping Brady & Co. to only 14 points. Nobody had done that all season. The lowest score they had before that was 20 and that was in crappy weather in a game against the Jets that they were leading end-to-end.

Lest we forget that after Plax's TD, the Pats had 30 seconds on the clock. Sure, not that much time but you got 3 TOs, Brady at the helm, and you just need a FG. Who else (with the exception of Archie's eldest) would you want in there? My 1st thought was the Pats tie it up and win in OT. Boo. But then the "D"-Men put the finishing touch on their masterpiece with a sack and 3 mistake-free, solid 2ndary plays (no flags), the most important on the great Randy Moss.

Sure, a team effort. Eli, Plax, Boss, Tyree - everyone played their a**es off, came up huge when they had to, and those 7 & 9 min drives help keep Brady off the field. But when the Pats O took over, it was the D who shut them down.

But you can't give a trophy to 11 guys or 2 guys - it has to be 1 guy. And since a game requires 3-5 down linemen, 2-3 cornerbacks, 2 running backs...well, that 1 guy tends to be a QB. Eli. Plus I think it was a great snub against cologne-hawking, model-banging, actress-impregnating Brady to give the trophy to the J. Crew-clad, I-just-graduated-from-prep-school-lookin, Mr. "Aw Shucks" himself.
